We create beaded necklaces and add Thai Buddhist amulets to put a different spin on them.
Our necklaces are based on old tribal necklaces from India, Pakistan, Morocco, Thailand, Tibet - we look for photos of antique Asian and African tribal jewellery and recreate them in the same or similar materials, using the antique ones as a guide of how to put the sizes, shapes and kind of stones etc together. Sometimes we alter the size and shape but we always follow the design of the original piece.
A Thai Buddha amulet is a Thai Buddhist blessed item. Worshippers can obtain an amulets or Thai Buddhist monk blessing by simply donating money or offering oil to the temple. Originally an amulet was given as a "gift" for donating to the temple, but now they have become a kind of tool to help enhance luck in different marriage, wealth, health, love and people relationship.
The best amulets are created at individual Wats (Thai Buddhist temples) and blessed by the Wats' leading monk. The more important the Wat and the more famous the monk, the stronger the blessing, of course. Amulets can protect you from a whole catalogue of occurrences, they can bring you good health, wealth, a happy family and almost anything you can imagine. The average Thai will have several; some to wear, some to have around the house, some for the car and anywhere else they think necessary. Almost every Thai will have at least one amulet.
