Large clutch that has a strap so it can double as a shoulder bag. Made from red, pink, blue and green embroidery on yellow embroidery done by Kanbi farmers from Saurashtra in Gujarat. It has a Kantha material back. The bag has a flap, a two compartment interior, one full length zipped section and one full length open section, a strap and a large mirror in metal on the front.
The Kanbi, who are farmers, are prolific embroiderers who depict naturalistic animals, birds, flowers and humans by outlining the figures in cotton chain stitch and fill in with brightly coloured silk or cotton in reds, greens, yellows, blues and browns usually on white, yellow or orange. The light backgrounds suit the mud-coloured walls of their communities.
