A gorgeous recycled UniQlo brand womans jacket that has been dyed in a shibori tie-dye technique with natural indigo dye. 100% cotton, size marked as XS.
Really nice cut and quality of material, in excellent condition. Nice lightweight cotton jacket.
Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of resist dyeing that uses binding, folding, clamping and stitching to create patterns. Adopted in the west as a "refined" version of tie-dyeing, it creates an unending array of interesting effects. Some patterns are easy to create, some require hours of patient stitching.
Indigo dye is a natural dye that works very well with Shibori.
All indigo dyed products are unlikely to be 100% colour fast, so please wash separately, in cold water with weak, mild detergent. Dry in the shade, and do NOT tumble dry, and never treat with bleach or stain remover. This will help stop the colour fading over time.
Lastly, please note, we are not a big industrial dye house, we are a small backyard setup and as such, we do not achieve perfect results. Sometimes blue gets where it shouldn't and sometimes the large areas of blue are not all one perfect shade. We do not "fix" them by adding colour or bleaching it away when it gets where it shouldn't. What comes out of the vat is what you get. We use natural indigo, not synthetic and try to use organics instead of strong chemicals at every stage.
